What will you learn?
Discover the latest manufacturing technologies by enrolling in our taught modules and take your skills to the next level by developing hands on experience with artificial intelligence.
Gain a deep understanding of the nature of materials (i.e. metals, ceramics, polymers and composites), physical and mechanical properties, production processes (e.g. 3D printing, extrusion, injection molding, pultrusion, filament winding, etc.), and manufacturing economics.
The interactive sessions on AI will give you an overview of this transformative technology including practical workshops where you will have the opportunity to develop your own AI algorithms and put them to the test. Learn about the different approaches to machine learning, from decision trees to deep neural networks, and their various applications.

Shahab Akhavan
Dr Shahab Akhavan has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His research focused on graphene and related materials for wearable electronics. After finishing his PhD he continued as Research Associate in Cambridge Graphene Centre, University of Cambridge and later he joined University College London as Lecturer. He has more than six years experience teaching and supervising students in University of Cambridge and University College London. He is one of the founders and directors of the Impetus Education team.

Hadi Modarres
Dr Hadi Modarres received his PhD in Engineering from Selwyn College, University of Cambridge. His research focused on using nanotechnology for lithium ion batteries. He graduated with a First in Engineering from Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge for his undergraduate degree. Hadi has over six years experience supervising, tutoring and mentoring both in academia and industry. In his spare time Hadi enjoys hiking, reading and playing football. He is one of the co-founders and directors of Impetus Education.

Usman Bhatti
Usman Bhatti received his Masters in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His Master's project focused on a low order unsteady flow model for turbomachinery. After graduating with a specialisation in Aerospace Engineering, Usman pursued a career in industry. He has over ten years of mentoring and industry experience, including working on European Space Agency projects as well as working as a Senior Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover. He is an MBA candidate at London Business School and a guest tutor at Impetus Education.
